Walking with Granddaughter

On Saturday Mrs AWB and I had planned a nice 'us' day. A walk and maybe lunch out. Granddaughter had other ideas.

'Grandma, can I come out for a walk with you today? Mum's getting someone in to fix the shower and I'll only be staying inside while that's done.'

The logic could not be resisted so she came. We had a lovely walk out near Chatsworth and shared some sweet moments before going to the farm shop and loading up with pies, swanky cheeses and other bits and pieces. I did get a rather nice smoked salmon quiche

She even took the micky out of us with that childish refrain of , 'Are we nearly there yet?', a giggle and a twinkle in her eye.

I still remember us all sitting eating fruit, for me a couple of pears, overlooking the pasture and park with Granddaughter perched on top of a wall eating her banana while a flock of deer ran across our field of vision. Marvelous.

A lovely day.
