A couple of weeks ago I mentioned the Christchurch Earthquake in connection with one of my fellow bloggers who visits me regularly.
Well, another; Miss Behaving has just gone through a Tsunami. She lives in Japan. She's OK, thank goodness, but it brings home the vulnerability of us mere mortals.
Living with the possibility of such cataclysmic events being able to happen at any time must affect a person's attitude to life.
I cannot imagine it.
I slept through our last 'Earthquake'. A strong one by UK standards. I think our house quivered ever so slightly according to Mrs AWB and the nearest thing we had to a Tsunami was when I woke up later and went for a pee.
We get off lightly here. Let's not forget that when we witter on about our trains that run late when we have a bit of snow or too many leaves on the lines.
I'm not religious so I'll not say any prayers. I'll just go to bed tonight with those people in Japan and New Zealand in my thoughts; those people who are without power and have maybe lost friends or family..................and will, at the back of their minds, know it could happen anytime again.
Thanks, mate your thoughts are appreciated very much. We're still getting aftershocks, unnerving, but our thoughts in turn are very much with those in Japan. It must be horrendous for them. Seize the day.
